'Chakri was Unwell During Memu Saitham'

With the sudden demise of music director Chakri following heart-attack, less-known things related to him are now seeing the light of the day. Singer-music composer Kousalya, who sung over 300 songs rendered by Chakri, shared great bond with the late music director and with his family.

Singer Kousalya said, "Chakri garu had called me few days ago and asked me to be part of New Year event on Dec 31. He had asked me to sing songs in the show to which I agreed immediately."

Recalling her last meeting, Kousalya shared, "I had seen him during Memu Saitham event. He was suffering from dyspnea (Aayasam). He also looked a bit depressed. When we all were going for dinner during the event, I asked him to join us but he gently refused to eat there. He said he's following diet and confined to only steamed vegetables which he brought from his home. I was happy that he's focusing on his diet, health. But in between, death has taken him away from us."

Kousalya added that Chakri is very soft-natured and gives good value to friendship. She said she didn't believe his death until she had seen his mortal body.
